Travel

Traveling in Morocco with a cat or dog.

This is a practical checklist we've built from our own trips: ferries, riads, souks, mountain passes. Nothing sentimental — just the things we wish we'd known.

Start with the paperwork. Domestic travel is easy, but border crossings need up-to-date rabies vaccination (within the last year), a European pet passport if leaving, and a health certificate signed within 10 days of travel.

For riads: call ahead, always. Most Marrakech and Fez riads accept small pets, but 'accept' can mean anything from a warm welcome to being asked to keep the door shut all night. Ask what they mean.
